No, this is an unscheduled policy. We will only ask for proof of ownership at the time of filing a claim.
Proof of ownership includes any financial records showing purchase of the item such as receipts, credit card statements, copies of manuals, photographs of the items taken before the date of loss, serial # of the item, and/or, original box or packaging of the item.
Yes. Jewelry, art and musical instruments are limited to a maximum of $2,000,
unless endorsed onto the policy and supported with receipts or appraisal at the time of filing a claim.
You will be given an opportunity to "schedule" jewelry, art and musical instruments that
are beyond the $2000 limit when you order or renew your policy online. Coverage over $2,000 is not automatic and requires prior approval from CSI.
Insurance coverage of bicycles is limited to a maximum of $2,000. Please note that bicycle coverage is not available to University of Southern California.
Yes. With CSI, travel anywhere in the world is covered 365 days of the year regardless of when, where, why or how you travel.
Yes. The policy will pay the actual cost to repair or replace property with like kind and quality property.
The Student Personal Property Policy does not provide Liability Insurance. CSI offers a separate liability policy at a low cost. You will be asked during the policy order process if you want this coverage. A parent's Homeowners policy may also offer coverage depending on the student's status.
The Student Personal Property Plus policy was designed to protect your property and property entrusted to your care. The Liability policy is to protect you from claims made against you for bodily injury or property damage to other people or their property for which you are found liable. The property policy covers your property everywhere in the world. The Liability policy applies to claims made against you while a resident at the location shown on your policy as the residence location.
Yes. This student policy applies first regardless of other insurance.
The personal property policy is in force 365 days of the year, even during semester and holiday breaks. The liability policy is in force while the student resides in the residence premises shown on the policy.
No, but you may request a cancellation for a partial refund if you decide part way
through the policy term that you no longer wish to have coverage.

This will open a claim directly in our system and you will receive a confirmation email that will include
detailed instructions on how to complete your claim for settlement.
Once all supporting documentation of your claim has been received, our claims process
can generate a settlement check within 30 days.
Yes. Most policies (unless you have "scheduled" items) are automatically available
and you may download or print your policy, including its declarations page, after purchasing.
No, we will endeavor to send a renewal notice before your policy expires.
We will only renew the policy upon receipt of payment.
As with all insurance contracts, you may cancel by sending written notice and returning your policy. Very few policies are cancelled or non-renewed by the company. The few that are usually result from an unusual frequency of claims.
If you return the policy within the first 30 days and request Cancellation as of inception,
we will return your full premium. Otherwise return premium will be calculated on a pro-rata basis subject to a minimum charge of $45.
Policy cancellations should be in writing and sent by email or written letter to CSI.
